AIAB Announces Petco as Newest Corporate Partner

Wharton AI & Analytics for Business (AIAB) welcomes Petco as its newest corporate partner.
“We are thrilled to welcome Petco as our newest Corporate Partner. In our first project together, we are working with the Petco Customer Analytics team on how to motivate customers to come back into the brick and mortar stores and where to invest in customer retention, basically a customer-centric problem. The students will gain first hand experience of working with a customer centric agile retailer and I know Petco will benefit from the innovation of the student data and analytics exploration ,” says Mary Purk, Executive Director of AI & Analytics for Business.
Petco is an industry leading health and wellness company focused on improving the lives of pets, pet parents and their partners. AIAB will be engaging in two student-run projects with Petco during the two-year partnership with Wharton AIAB. The focus on the first project is to understand what drives in-store transactions and frequency of purchases among Petco customers.
The renowned corporate partner program at AIAB provides Petco with the opportunity to engage with faculty, staff, and students to tackle business analytics problems, engage in research and thought leadership, and prepare the next generation of data-driven decision makers. This spring, Petco will participate in the Analytics Accelerator, AIAB’s flagship program, where a team of students from Penn and Wharton will identify what levers of the business model Petco should invest more money in to increase and maintain retention of customers.
