Our Comprehensive Research Process
Research projects typically span 12–24 months and range from using one to several highly customized academic teams. Wharton faculty will work closely with you to identify and scope a project, recruit top researchers, and facilitate meetings and project check points until research completion.
Project Champions should expect to spend 40-45 hours on the entire project (22-25 hours over 4-9 months on project preparation, 18-20 hours for 12 months during the project).
Opportunity
Identify a data or business challenge and work with Analytics at Wharton’s research team to scope potential projects.
Legal Agreements
All parties sign the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) or the Data Provider Agreement (DPA).
Data Transfer/Hosting
Transfer data through secure channels or grant direct access to your company’s secure environment.
Call for Proposals
Co-host a webinar with Analytics at Wharton to announce the research opportunity and send out a call for proposals.
Proposal Selection
A committee of Wharton faculty and staff vets a list of top proposals and presents to you for approval.
Research
Selected teams execute their research proposals over the course of 9–12 months, checking in with you and Analytics at Wharton on a regular basis.
Applied Research and Models
Researchers present findings at a research symposium and share code for new statistical models.
Beyond the Project
Work with researchers beyond the symposium to address further questions.
